SHOCKER: Brian Daboll dissolves team captain over reportedly allegations

MARCH 03, 2024
The 2024 NFL season could define Brian Daboll’s future with the New York Giants.
Daboll, who will be in his third campaign in New York this year, could be facing real pressure to put together a good season, per The Athletic’s Dan Duggan.
“Daboll’s overhaul of half of his staff amid strained relationships has league sNY Giantsources viewing him as being under real pressure to get things turned around next season,” Duggan wrote.
After putting together a successful first season that saw the Giants reach the divisional round in 2022, New York took a step back in 2023, going 6-11 and missing the postseason amid inconsistency at the quarterback slot. Daboll is hoping replacing nearly half his staff will pay dividends in 2024.

Daboll’s quest for a better 2024 starts this offseason. The Giants have the No. 6 pick in the NFL draft but are believed to be willing to trade up to take one of the top quarterbacks in the class.
New York’s 2023 season was defined by the quarterback position, where it looked to three different options amid injuries. Tyrod Taylor played in 11 games, Tommy DeVito played in nine and Daniel Jones—the projected starter next year—played in just six, and none of the three had a memorable campaign.
Another draft option for the Giants could be taking a receiver to give Jones a top-tier outlet next year. Bleacher Report’s 2024 mock draft projects New York to take LSU receiver Malik Nabers, who is the No. 2 wide receiver on B/R’s Big Board, just behind Marvin Harrison Jr.

Whichever direction Daboll and the Giants decide to go, it’s clear they need a big offseason to bounce back from a shaky year
