SAD NEWS: Max Bromer Has Ruined His Career, Not Again.

Tyler Brosmer, a junior quarterback for the Wildcats, is currently in his fourth spring practice with the team, despite not yet turning 21. Brosmer is set to celebrate his 21st birthday later this month, marking a significant milestone in his collegiate football journey

Although Brosmer joined the program in 2019 and started 10 games as a true freshman, his playing time was limited under former UNH coach Sean McDonnell. During the 2021 spring season, Brosmer’s opportunities were further curtailed due to COVID-related issues that prematurely ended UNH’s season after just one game, a loss to Albany. Rick Santos, the interim head coach at the time, led the team during Brosmer’s freshman season, which was also impacted by a knee injury (torn ACL/meniscus) requiring surgery.

Current Health and Spring Practice

Despite ongoing recovery, Brosmer is participating in spring practice on a limited basis. He mentioned being cleared for throwing shortly before the start of spring practice and is gradually easing back into quarterback drills. Brosmer’s focus is on refining fundamental skills like drops and play fakes while avoiding deep throws to preserve his recovery progress.

Recovery Journey and Mentorship

Brosmer underwent surgery in September and sought advice from fellow quarterbacks who had recovered from similar injuries, including Miami’s D’Eriq King and Oregon’s Anthony Brown. Their guidance and shared experiences have been instrumental in Brosmer’s rehabilitation process.

Wildcats’ Offensive Challenges

Reflecting on the previous season, Brosmer highlighted the struggles of the UNH offense, which ranked last among Colonial Athletic Association teams in both points per game (16.5) and yards per game (283.73). Despite these challenges, Brosmer remains optimistic about the upcoming season and aims to contribute fully when UNH opens against Monmouth on September 1.
