Full highlight Boston Celtics vs Washington Wizards

Boston Celtics securing a 133-129 victory over the Wizards.

The Boston Celtics hosted the Washington Wizards on Friday night in a game that many anticipated would be a blowout. With Washington having won just nine games so far in the season and Boston performing exceptionally well, the odds seemed stacked against the Wizards. However, early difficulties made the game much closer than expected for the Celtics.

Jordan Poole, known for his performance against the Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors, spearheaded an early surge for the Wizards. Capitalizing on some weak defense from Boston, particularly in transition, Poole put the Wizards ahead early, surprising the fans at TD Garden.

Despite the challenges, the Celtics gradually regained control quarter by quarter, eventually securing a 133-129 victory over the Wizards.

First Quarter: The Celtics started strong but quickly lost momentum, allowing the Wizards to take the lead. Jordan Poole dominated the first quarter with 11 points, while Kristaps Porzingis stood out for the Celtics, scoring eight points. Boston struggled with transition defense, allowing the Wizards to capitalize and take a 35-31 lead after one quarter.

Second Quarter: Boston’s shooting troubles continued into the second quarter, with poor offensive execution leading to defensive lapses. Washington extended their lead to 71-64 by halftime, capitalizing on open three-pointers and defensive breakdowns from the Celtics.

Third Quarter: The third quarter saw a turnaround for the Celtics as they slowly closed the gap on the Wizards’ lead. Jayson Tatum led the charge with aggressive drives to the basket, while Porzingis exploited mismatches in the post. Boston’s improved play resulted in a commanding 100-87 lead heading into the final quarter.

Fourth Quarter: The fourth quarter saw the Celtics maintain their lead despite a late comeback attempt by the Wizards. Tatum and Porzingis led the scoring, securing the win for Boston.
