Arkansas draftee held on murder charge after fatal shooting outside party after high school prom

(AP) — ELENA-WEST HELENA, AR A high school senior was fatally shot outside of a party early on Sunday after the high school prom, and an Arkansas adolescent will be held on a first-degree murder allegation.

Donterious Stephens, 19, of Helena, handed himself in to police on Sunday afternoon in connection with the shooting murder of Lorenzo Harrison III, 18, according to a spokeswoman for the Arkansas State Police.

Harrison was shot and died at an off-campus party after the school’s prom at Helena-West Helena Central High School. Harrison was a senior. West Helena and Helena are situated on the Mississippi River, 52 miles (85 kilometers) southwest of Memphis, Tennessee.
