Aggie fans and media react to Texas A&M not making the 2025 NCAA Tournament

The book on the 2025 Texas A&M baseball season has officially closed, ending in disappointment under first-year head coach Michael Earley. Despite a frustrating start, the Aggies showed flashes of resilience after beginning SEC play 1-8 before heading to Tennessee to take on the No. 1 Vols.

That series appeared to mark a turning point, as A&M secured three consecutive SEC series wins, improving to 8-10. However, the momentum stalled after being swept by the Texas Longhorns before bouncing back to take the series over LSU. With the season on the line and a 10-11 conference record, A&M suffered an unexpected setback, getting swept by Missouri, the Tigers’ only conference wins, likely saving their head coach’s job.

This left the Aggies needing to clinch the Georgia series, which they failed to do, entering the SEC Tournament with an 11-13 conference record. Experts predicted that A&M’s only realistic path to an NCAA Tournament berth was winning the SEC Tournament or, at the very least, reaching the championship game with a strong performance.

Unfortunately, that did not happen. After a highly competitive quarterfinal loss to LSU, the Aggies were left anxiously waiting for NCAA Selection Monday. When the moment arrived, Maroon & White fans did not hear their team’s name called, abruptly ending their season. Texas A&M supporters and media outlets quickly took to the internet to voice their reactions to the preseason No. 1 team missing the NCAA Tournament.
